A Working Holiday visa allows Commonwealth citizens between the ages of 17 and 30 to travel and work in the UK for a maximum period of two years.

 
     
 

Important requirements to remember:

 
 
  • You can only come to the UK for an extended holiday, with the intention of taking paid work incidental to your holiday.
  • You are not allowed to work for more than 12 months during your stay.
  • You must be able to support and accommodate yourself without recourse to public funds .
  • If you are married, you and your spouse should both qualify under the age criteria and be travelling together.
  • You must not have dependent children over five.
  • You must be able to pay for your return ticket to your home country.
  • You intend to leave the UK at the end of your holiday.
 
     
 

However, after spending 12 months on a Working Holidaymaker visa in the UK , you may be able to switch to a work permit.

You can switch to anything from your 2 year working holiday provided you still have lawfull stay!
